Haunted Feels

Hey there!  I am beyond excited for fall to get here.  My hubby decorated the house this weekend with all the fall decorations and I think it looks beautiful in here!  The kids all went back to school (well two are at home for e-learning, one went back half days to school and one is currently at work) so I'm taking some time for ME and coloring this spooky sweet house from Mariola Budek Art.  Each time I finish coloring one item on this picture it takes me another 15 minutes to figure out what color the next item will be. At this rate it may be actually October before I get it finished!

So, what is everyone else working on today??

Happy Friday all

So, today is the last friday for the month of August.  In my house that usually means the last day of summer.  My husbands favorite time of the year is fall, so every year for his birthday his only wish is to decorate the house with all fall colors. Fall is about to explode around my house this weekend.
So, I guess I should show you the last of my summer cards and move on to more fall posts.

This super cute card I made using Sweet November digital stamps. This is the front of the card showing this sweet mermaid wondering what it would be like to be a part of the human world.

Now, under the sea is better down where it's wetter, do you see??  These mermaids look happy as can be living the aqua life on the inside of this card.

Here is another card I made over the summer with Sweet November Stamps.  Again the outside of the card shows what is happening above the water.  The inside of the card shows a whole new world (I know different quote from a different movie, but it still fits) of what is happening under the surface of the water.

I know these aren't the best cards to showcase my color skills, but we are all learning together, right?  I feel like I have come along way in my coloring skills from the beginning of the summer to now.
So, that being said lets just keep coloring, just keep coloring (I know a different movie again, but they all fit in this post....)

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Bird-Days!

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of my new name, MOM! Yes, today my first and oldest son turns 22 years old.  (I really don't feel that old..)  If y'all have kids that old (or older) do you find it harder and harder to get them the perfect gift?  Gift cards and money seem practical but less sentimental, but lets face it, that's is pretty much what they would like.  So, that brings me to my creative hunt for the perfect gift that includes something they would love and something they all need...

To start off I printed out some digital images from The Greeting Farm and colored them all using my Copic markers.

Next, I stamped some birds from My Favorite Things set Toucan Do It.  I like to use my Misti or my Stamparatus (whichever is closer to me at the time) to get the nice clean stamped image.

Now it's time to put everything together!  My son loves volunteering at the bird sanctuary every weekend, so I thought it was only fitting that I make him a insert for his gift with birds on it.  And yes, he does own his own bird now too!  Mr. Cosmo makes himself known throughout the house ALL DAY LONG!!  One of the reasons why I hesitate on ever doing a live video of my coloring..

And here is the final project! All Andy's favorite things!!  Why is there a green fork and spoon you ask, just because it's green and a goofy thing to put in there.  Andy will laugh at it.

New Coloring class

Has anyone ever taken a class that makes them step outside of the comfort box?  That is me today.  Lets see how this turns out...  The class is offered through KitandClowder.com

My first post... Oh boy, here goes nothing!

My friend had been wanting me to start a blog for years now.  I kept brushing it off.  Who would want to follow a stay at home wife and mother of four kids?  What kind of excitement could I offer to readers?  Would I be scrutinized for my lack of spelling or punctuation?  Well, I AM just a wife, mom and a normal everyday person who loves to craft.  I am not perfect by any means!

So, here is a little about me. I was born and raised in Iowa and then moved down to sunny Florida. This is where I met a quiet good looking guy I worked with and things just moved fast from there!  I have been married for over 20 years. My husband has supported me through all my crazy crafty ideas. We have a different sense of humor so we click together perfectly! We have four kids and a house full of pets for each one of us to take care of (which really means, me reminding everyone to take care of THEIR own pets).

My hopes for this blog is to showcase my creative side and maybe snag a few followers. I don't know where this will lead, but at least it will give me a place to post my pictures of my creations that I have made (maybe at least my mom will follow me if no one else does!😉). Hopefully, it will also show my husband that I can find another use for this new computer other then shopping on Amazon and stocking my coloring idols! Speaking of coloring, I love to color stamps with my Copic markers. I am pretty okay with coloring, but there is always room for improvement. Maybe as I improve, I will inspire you to pick up some markers and color along with me!

Anyways, I think that is enough for a first post.  Wouldn't want to put anyone to sleep with the first visit here!

Keep creating!

Skipped Halloween and Thanksgiving and went right to Christmas!

Hey all. No, I'm not really skipping Halloween and Thanksgiving, I just need to make lots and lots of Christmas tags for the local kids...
